Sunday Cultural Days
When: Every Sunday
Where: 1a Young Streert Onebygamba Carrington - Cultural Meeting Place (near story poles off the mangroves boardwalk)
Costs: FREE ($10 donation optional to help with costs)
Time: 2pm - 4pm​

Our Sunday Cultural Days aims to create a safe space for participants to connect to a sense of being, build confidence through belonging, and embrace their identity. Practice of Aboriginal cultural activities include: Language, storytelling, cleansing/smoking, connection to Country, planting together, group activities, creating a bigger understanding of connection to community and family.

We are currently offering the Gapu Gathang - Circle Connections project on Cultural Sundays. This 8 week program is designed to connect to all adults & young ones needs as an inclusive & diverse program tailored to all ages to create an experience of connection to MIND, BODY & SOUL, within a safe and respected environment. The teaching of sacred & protective knowledge will be shared with all connected to the circle. The project aims to create a safe space for participants to connect to spirit, build confidence, embrace their identity and includes wellbeing, cultural practices including Gathang language and educational yarns. Nuringul Wakals Yalawanyi (Spirited Ones Gathering)
When: Fortnightly Sunday’s starting 7/7/24

Come celebrate culture and spiritual connection to the lands and waterways through dance, song and language. Nuringul Wakals Yalawanyi provides an all diverse connection to learn our traditional language Gathang through creation of song and creative workshops learning language of our waterways, animals and lands. Clean up Sunday Days
When: Monthly (Last Sunday of the month)
Where: Carrington Mangroves, Elizabeth Street Boardwalk
Costs: FREE ($10 donation optional to help with costs)
Time: 10:30am (times vary depending on tides please see facebook for updates)

Our Clean up Sunday Day’s take place on the last Sunday of each month at Carrington Mangroves. Then followed by cultural day at Carrington community centre on young street. Please wear enclosed shoes and check out our facebook page for updates, times vary depending on tides.

Healing Spirit (One or two hour program)

10 - 30 max participants

This 1-2 hour program will reflect on forming connections to our country within a group setting through sitting around the circle & walking on Country. Storytelling of the Dates family bloodline and eight generations living on Country, Onebygamba & Muloobinba. The importance of connection to Country is about cultural beliefs and sharing the knowledge of belonging. This connection will give each individual an opportunity to share past and present knowledge. Spiritual Guidance will be offered and shared, and listening, positive thinking and mindfulness will be created. Respecting cultural practices of the country we connect too. Acknowledging all spiritual lores and discussion of our human laws.Through the power of listening, a process of positive thinking and mindfulness will be created. Acknowledging all spiritual lores and discussing our human laws, the healing will then begin within one's whole being.
